If you run out of your prescribed medication and can't get to the doctor, you can get an emergency supply from a chemist, in the UK or abroad. This is very useful if you are travelling. The pharmacist can give you up to five days' supply of medication. The pharmacist will only supply the medicines if they are satisfied you are normally taking them and that it would be harmful for you to miss a dose. Keeping a record of your medicines, or having a repeat prescription, will help in this situation.
