The risks from the radiation are very low.
For instance, the risk of cancer from the amount of radiation involved in this test is 1 in 6000.
In comparison, the risk of getting cancer naturally is 1 in 4, and the risk of death from natural causes (in a 40-year-old) is 1 in 850.
Again, the risks are extremely low and you will be carefully monitored throughout the test. Risks include abnormal heart rhythms, changes in blood pressure, dizziness and heart attack.
The risks associated with the exercise test are as for the pharmacological test, but there is also the risk of physical injury (for example, from falling off of the treadmill).
