Activate Your Heart - Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme

Test

What happens during the procedure?

You will have a needle inserted into a vein in your arm or hand (this is no more painful than having a blood test).

You may have to undress down to the waist, but you would be given a hospital top to wear.

Heart monitor leads will be attached to your chest. Your heart rhythm and blood pressure are monitored throughout the test.

The small amount of radiation will then be injected through the needle in your hand or arm.

After the injection you will need to wait at least one hour before you have your scan.
During that time you will have to drink extra fluids.
