How can I get started?

Just half an hour of moderate activity each day is all it takes.

  • You need to choose an activity that you enjoy, and include friends and family to keep you motivated.
  • A good way to start is to carry on with your everyday routine, but to do activities which use more energy (for example, getting off the bus a stop earlier or using the stairs instead of the lift).

If you are struggling to increase your level of exercise, ask your GP or practice nurse about cardiac rehabilitation programmes in your area or local activity schemes for people with coronary heart disease.
