Some people put off stopping smoking because they are worried about putting weight on. Many people gain a few pounds after they stop smoking because smoking suppresses your appetite. To avoid craving a cigarette, many people snack on sweet foods and change their normal diet.
Remember that once you've stopped smoking, you'll find it easier to be active and lose any extra weight!
It is not inevitable that you will put on weight, but you will need to plan ahead to avoid this. Avoid the obvious pitfall – don't eat chocolate instead of smoking a cigarette and keep active!
